The Role:

We are seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join our solar analysis team. Specifically, we seek an analyst with a background in one or more of the following: natural sciences, engineering, economics, business or finance, to work with the existing China-based analyst team and the international Solar team to cover China's solar manufacturing industry.

The analyst will have the following responsibilities:

- Gathering information on and analysing the supply and manufacture of solar components and materials in Greater China. Analysis should include, but not be limited to, policy, industry economics, key player strategies and industry trends
- Working with Beijing-based data team to maintain accurate company and market data
- Production of quarterly and monthly research reports, consulting projects, and other pieces of written analysis
- Respond to client requests related to analysis
- Support the Asia business development team in client meetings; represent Bloomberg New Energy Finance at conferences and events
- Participate in and help organise a number of key company events in the Asia region, including networking events and high level events such as the Solar Leadership Forum

Qualifications:

- Excellent English and Mandarin (written and spoken fluency in both languages).
- Post-graduate level degree preferred in a numerate or science based subject
- Ability to think critically and discuss logically and rationally
- Ability to assimilate and assess new and highly technical information, and to identify and test patterns and trends which emerge
- Exceptional communication skills and professionalism, as required to deliver services to FTSE-250 and Fortune 500 organisations
- Ability to act as a self-starter, with a high work rate, multi-tasking ability and rigorous attention to detail, as well as ability to see a project from initiation to completion
- Ability to work effectively as part of a geographically widespread and culturally diverse team, contributing detail to the big picture and understanding both
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Dedication and commitment to the role, and willingness to spend several years developing deep expertise in the field. It is expected that the role will grow with the Bloomberg New Energy Finance team in Asia.
