JOB PURPOSE

The key objective of this position is to provide dedicated support to ensure customer satisfaction throughout trips and to provide efficient solutions to any problems that may arise. KEY ACTIVITIES
� Handle all incoming calls for Group and FIT customers travelling within responsible territories.
� Act as an emergency response team and provide support to tour leaders/clients during any unexpected crisis situations that may arise.
� Monitor / spot check the quality of suppliers through services provided.
� Check itineraries to make sure smooth running of tours and itinerary feasibility.
� Meet / greet clients / tour leaders during and outside office hours.
� Attend tours, inspections, or provide onsite inspection / support if/when required during and outside office hours in & outside of UK.
� Business trips (within and EMEA and possibly to sales offices) are required
� Assign and allocate services if / when required.

� Liaise with / report to EMEA offices, sales offices, suppliers, and other departments within GTA regarding itinerary issues, tour status and problems on the trip within the timescale specified on company policy and procedures.
� Negotiate with suppliers and clients to maximize GTA profit margin when necessary.
� Negotiate contracts, and/or contract new services if/when required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
� Previous experience in customer service / travel industry essential
� Travel industry market & culture understanding desirable
� Good standard of written and verbal English, Mandarin, French are required.
� Knowledge of any third language of Cantonese, Spanish or Italian are desirable.
� Strong experience and good market, culture knowledge for Apac region is essential

The Castle opens daily to visitors from 1st April to end of October 2012 - posts are from three months minimum (short term contracts between June and September) and up to seven months maximum. Skills & Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

� Develop an area given for sales account management and new pipeline acquisition of B2B group customers across the designated territory
� This key role is tasked with converting all potential business into definite groups, won & operated at maximum possible profit by GTA

REPORTING AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
� Reporting directly to Regional Sales Manager Groups (& onward to Senior Sales Manager Europe groups)
� Close cooperation with Operations Account Handlers &Team Leaders
� Strong relationship with counterparts in key departments : Sourcing, Group Res, Quotations, FIT sales and local GTA offices.
� Also key relationship with Finance/Account department

KEY ACTIVITIES
� Handle existing accounts & business development activities with the goal of meeting or exceeding TTTV and margin targets
o Through market research and intelligence obtained
o Through business trips and trade fair attendance
o Through close work with FIT department colleagues
o Through internal leads, eg Kuoni/GTA offices
� To ensure that a high standard of sales service is offered at all times in line with the client/GTA SLA (Service Level Agreement)
o Immediate acknowledgement of requests
o Rapid response to hotel booking queries and requests
o Quotes assessment & offers sent as a priority
o Responding to all calls and emails within a maximum 24 hour period.
o Following up all offers, negotiating and converting leads into business
� To prepare and follow-through all contractual paperwork and ensure payment agreements are in place with each client
� To report to Sales management any internal issues relating to the sales service and commercial success of a group, for example: the speed of response from internal service departments, and the speed and quality of hotel confirmations
� To support and assist sales management with cover for other markets or clients resulting from colleagues� business trips, annual leave, sickness etc.
� To reach commercial judgements on pricing and costing, and to offer to client so as to maximise revenue and profit to the department.
� To be trained and fully versant with all relevant systems and applications to perform the job of sales executive effectively:
o London Quotes and reservations systems
o Microsoft office, notably Excel spreadsheets
o Sales force and GS
o Any new system applications introduced to support the sales effort
� To ensure a positive and professional image of the department and Company is portrayed to clients, staff and colleagues at all times

COMPLEXITY
� High level of commercial awareness required to make decision on a daily basis ensuring GTA has a strong customer base and business mix in the area designated. Ability to thrive in a pressurized environment.
� Experienced negotiation skills required in order to provide the first line approval of commercial arrangements with both customers & service departments, subject to review & approval from Regional Sales Manager.
� Strong forecasting skills and ability to anticipate any shortfalls created by market conditions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
� Experience of a sales and operations role within the travel or leisure industry is viewed as essential.
� Proven commercial awareness of hotel pricing, service and travel-industry issues is required, as is a wide-ranging product knowledge of leading European and Worldwide group travel destinations
� A self-starter, who is organised, takes ownership and responsibility of results & targets, can work rapidly in a fast moving environment with high volumes and takes decisions as appropriate.
� Ability to negotiate with clients and internal suppliers is also essential
� Language skills will be considered an advantage.
� Specific market knowledge
� Knowledge of GTA systems (Quotes and Reservations) is desirable.
� Self-motivated, enthusiastic and with attention to detail.
� Organised & efficient approach to workloads.
� Team player, with flexible and adaptable approach.
